Resources

logoHere are some online resources that I find useful and worth sharing.

Denomination Websites

  • Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) – the denomination of the local church I am currently serving. I maintain ordained ministerial partner standing in this denomination.
  • United Church of Christ – the denomination that brought me to an adult faith and also ordained me. I maintain ordained ministerial standing in this denomination.

Ministry Resources

  • BibleGateway, although not from a tradition that is particularly compatible with my own, allows Bible searches and look-ups for many different Bible translations, including Eugene Peterson’s The Message, the Common English Bible, and the New Revised Standard Version.
  • Global Ministries, a joint service of the Disciples of Christ and the United Church of Christ, has lots of stuff for worship and preaching and to help keep your congregation connected to the global church.
  • Hymnary.org provides several indexes for looking of up hymns from many hymnals. I find it very useful to choosing hymns that relate to my sermons.
  • Process & Faith provides resources from a process (relational) perspective. It includes biblical commentary on RCL passages.
  • The Revised Common Lectionary contains the full RCL and a citation index which allows you to look up a Bible passage and see what date (or dates) that Bible passage is used.
  • The TaizĂ© Community in France provides prayers and meditative songs, which a preacher can use in worship or just use to help center their souls. GIA Publications is their agent in North America.
  • The Text this Week contains many helpful resources. It’s especially useful if you preach from the Revised Common Lectionary.
  • Working Preacher provides many helpful resources. I use it for the Narrative Lectionary, which I have used at my local church.
